Water Treatment Plant Paraná de las Palmas: drinking water to two million inhabitants of Buenos Aires.

The water treatment plant Paraná de las Palmas (work funded by the National Government) is one of the largest enterprises in drinking water developed in the country over the past 50 years. Cover current and projected demand of drinking water in the area, will provide drinking water to 2 million inhabitants of Buenos Aires.

addition to improving service in Tigre, San Fernando, San Isidro, Vicente López and San Martín, will allow expansion in Tigre, San Martín, Tres de Febrero, Hurlingham, Ituzaingó and Moron. Will supply 60% of the inhabitants of that whole strip of Buenos Aires.

With a national investment of 2,800 million pesos, the project will benefit two million residents.

Water Treatment Plant will have capacity production of 900 thousand cubic meters of potable water.

To carry raw water from the tap until the water treatment plant will use two tunneling of last generation, whose teams are recognized for operating in difficult soils safely and efficiently, excavating and concrete segments placed in its path, building the 15 km tunnel.

The tunneling move 18 meters per day, digging the equivalent of 22 dump trucks with the strength of 19 Boeing aircraft. Each one weighs 260 tons and 1132 hours needed to operate man per day in full swing.

As part of the works which the Government funds to reduce the deficit drinking water have been carried out expansion works in Dique Luján treatment plant to increase production capacity and to serve the people of the dam and cream. And thanks to

Water + Work Plan, are being built 27 kilometers of pipes to bring drinking water to 20,000 residents of the neighborhoods and the Las Tunas Alge.
